How to Share Your Garden with Wildlife

Do you have some gardening ‘bad habits’?
Do you want to have a garden that buzzes, chirps and rustles with life?

Every garden, no matter how small can be a home and haven for a great many species. You’ll be surprised how many creatures move in, once you start to share your garden with them.

With wildlife habitats declining and species disappearing at an alarming rate, what can we do?

If you want to know how to make a difference, with the way that you garden, join us for this informative and ‘can-do’ day of tips for gardening with conservation in mind.

Subjects covered:

  • The problem is this
  • What wildlife needs
  • Wildlife-friendly and tidy – your garden doesn’t have to look a mess
  • How to change our gardening ‘bad habits’
  • Great wildlife plants
  • Ten tips for sharing your garden

Who is the course for?

  • Beginners and garden enthusiasts are welcome.
  • This course for anyone who wants to encourage and nurture more wildlife in their garden and see it buzzing, rustling and chirping with life. If you have always gardened the ‘traditional way’ and want to be more informed about the impact of our ‘bad habits’, come and join us.

By the end of the day you will :

  • Understand the impact that we humans can have on a garden space (negative and positive)
  • Have a sense of what we, as individuals can achieve in our own gardens
  • Understand the importance of chemicals, water management, gardening methods, plant choices and wildlife support
  • Have a list of plants that are great for supporting wildlife
  • Have a choice of easy-actions that are inexpensive for you to do in your own garden

The Group

We will be an informal group. Juliet teaches in an accessible, workshop style with illustrated ‘info-bites’ and relevant exercises for you to think about your own garden.
As well as being an award-winning garden designer, Juliet has been teaching gardening to professionals and enthusiasts for over 15 years.
