SASHIKO WORKSHOP

28th April 2023 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

Sashiko is a Japanese form of decorative stitching and was originally used to patch kimonos.  It translates directly as “little stabs.” This visible mending technique has been practiced in Japan for thousands of years, and is now used to mend tears in fabrics, and as a decorative stitch in its own right.

Marilyn will show you different techniques you can use as decoration or use as a patch to repair a tear. Materials will be provided but please bring scissors and a basic sewing kit, if possible.

Ticket Details – to book onto this workshop or find out more, please email emma@pitfieldbarn.co.uk
