Then join us to learn to carve your own beautiful linocuts and create original winter themed lino prints inspired by plants and nature. \n\n\n\nIntroductionJoin us at the beautiful Pitfield Barn Cut Flower Farm in Hurstpierpoint to learn how to design and carve your own winter inspired linocuts. Whether you’ve never tried lino cutting and printing\, or already have some experience\, come and join us is a relaxed environment in which to create your own designs to use in your Christmas craft projects. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAn Outline of the Day \n\n\n\nThe day beings with an introduction to linocut – how to use the carving tools and basic cutting techniques. You will then make your own small practice block to learn the techniques before being shown how to ink your lino block and burnish prints by hand. \n\n\n\nFollowing a break for a tasty lunch and tour of the flower fields\, you will design your own A6 block\, taking inspiration from the gardens\, resource materials or your own images. \n\n\n\nEveryone will take home several completed images. \n\n\n\nTutor DescriptionWendy Darby\, is a qualified teacher\, designer and crafter. She has had a varied and eclectic career\, both nationally and internationally\, which she draws upon for her crafting and design inspiration. We will look at the different types of glass fusion and how the material can be used to create different types of designs. Make Spring Botanical Mugs with Twig Ceramics. \n\n\n\nThis workshop we will be using a variety of foraged leaves and flowers to create beautiful natural patterns in the clay. The focus will be on slab rolling\, designing and pressing seasonal plants from the around the farm into your clay and then using hump moulds to form your slabs into dishes or bowls. These will be trimmed\, neatened and shaped\, then left to dry and fired. We will also be making small pinched bowls with leaf inlays decorating the bowls.  \n\n\n\nWho is this for? Anyone keen to get their hands stuck in with clay.
